Midwifery care differs from modern obstetrics in many ways, but the most noticeable difference is in the time we spend together. Each appointment is at minimum 30 minutes face to face time. We will discuss your pregnancy, your plans, and the important topics surrounding this special time. Our hope is that we will build a relationship based on mutual respect that allows for a positive birth experience for you and your family.

You can expect:

 
  • Initial Free Consultation
  • Monthly visits until 30-32 weeks
  • Bi-Monthly visits until 36 weeks
  • Weekly visits from 36 weeks until Birth
  • Baby/Mama home visits at 24 hours, 3-4 days
  • Office follow-up visits at 2 weeks and 6 weeks post birth
  • Evidence based prenatal testing and ultrasound schedule (always your choice)
  • Newborn Hearing Screening
  • Newborn Screening for congenital heart defects

Postpartum visits include:

 
  • Close monitoring of mom’s recovery
  • Well- baby exams through 6 weeks
  • Footprints on your baby book and a decorative birth certificate
  • Routine newborn metabolic screening
  • Breastfeeding support and/or working through any feeding concerns
  • Support for Postpartum needs and care of family
  • Referrals available for placenta encapsulation
  • Records forwarded to your pediatrician
